The most common ones are the REScheck and COMcheck reports which help gauge the energy efficiency of the building you're building. It covers doors, windows, exterior walls, HVAC equipment, fans, and anything that can effect energy efficiency. Using 2x6 walls instead of standard 2x4 walls can help with energy efficiency as well as using different types of drywall and insulation. The City of Austin is especially critcal about energy efficiency, so the materials and types of construction you do in Austin have to be designed a certain way to meet those codes. That can be very tricky if you are used to building a certain way and using certain vendors. It can be costly sometimes to use a manufacturer or materials catered to Austin building codes, but it is well worth it because it saves your client money in the long run and will provide a better overall structure. A recent addition to our list of services is building material reports and cost estimation services. These reports aren't necessarily required but they definitely help when putting together a proposal for a construction loan or for getting bids from construction and materials vendors. REPORTS |
